With this newer model Omega have definitely improved on what was already a great looking watch. The applied Omega logo (as opposed to painted) the red Seamaster wording and the metal surround to the hour markers really works a treat.

Just as an aside, if anyone sees the white dial version of this watch anywhere, I recommend snapping it up immediately as they are extremely rare and well sought after by Omie fans.

I was actually offered a while one in trade earlier on but decided to pass.

Thanks for pointing out the differences... did not realize that the older ones did not have the chapter ring and applied Omega logo... all I was told was that it had a slightly longer hour hand or something like that

Between Omega, Rolex and Breitlings you seem to have all my favorites covered in your websites :D

Yes it is a helium release valve. It screws in like a crown...., which means if you want to actually use it while diving you'd need to remember to unscrew it while ascending. God knows why they don't just use a simple pressure valve like Breitling on the Steelfish or Seawolf, or like Rolex on the Sea Dweller!

But either way, Seamasters are all lovely watches and great value for money too.

You can say that again!!! I can't wait for the new Planet ocean (omega's greatest design) to be updated with the new movement next year!! Supposedly there will be some minor design changes and an improved bracellet!!! That PO and a PAM 104 and I'M DONE! I SWEAR!!!

Maybe if an Overseas or Daytona pops up at the right price I might be tempted.
