hi guys,

This is my tiny photo tribute to my Blacksteel No 290 of 2000

I've named it Borg.

Lots of conflicting opinions on this fellow, some love it, some really really don't.

Me.....it's very very loved.

Davey

Better be quick then - unless you want to go the eBay route there are virtually none left.

It's a great piece. When I first saw it in pictures I thought I'd never buy it, but it grew on me and as soon as I had one on my wrist I was lost - I haven't gone as far as naming it, but I can't imagine not having one now.

I've always loved the look, but the fact it's a surface costing (albeit a very VERY tough one) has always put me off getting one. :?

Great looking thing though.

Great pics, I especially like the one on the Ridell helmet. Are you playing yourself?

Glory days my friend, I played from 1985-1996

I'm way to old to take the knocks these days, but it was the greatest game I've ever played.

Apart from the not being able to sleep properly the night after a game....because I re-ran every play in my sleep.....poor long suffering wife.

I know the feeling. I played a few years, 1996-2001, before injuries made me stop. Both shoulders popped with lasting damages - they still pop if stressed. But now it's cool, it happens maybe 2-3 times/year instead of 3-4 times/week as it were...

As a WR/CB I really hate when someone jumps in your back, blindsided, and rips your shoulders...

Great looking watch. Probably a stupid question but do you find it marks or scratches easily?

Hiya

Not a silly question at all.

Well, I've had mine a while, prob one of the 1st in the Uk to obtain one as I had an order in at Basel in 2007

I wear it a lot, it's had a few of those dreaded CLUNKS but not a scratch or dent to be seen.

I think it's proving very very tough.

Davey

That's great to know. As I said above, I love the look of the Blacksteel, but the idea of scratches and general wear has always put me off. Maybe I shouldn't have worried!

I really want to see one in person, but there are too few to run across one.

It is a nice watch - and I came very close to buying one.
But NOT being able to EVER wear it on a steel bracelet was a BIG Minus for me. I dropped it.
