Hello everyone here's a brief introduction..... I am 21 from the UK, and have always since I can remember had some fascination with timepieces. My first were gifts for christmas, things like a £20 Timex, and when you're ten, that's expensive About three years ago I was taken aback by the uniqueness of Breitling. I didn't want to spend out on the real thing so I bought myself a replica to see what it was like. It was pretty good I must say. From then on I knew I had to get a gen. Then I found out about the Aerospace Ltd Ed watch. It was a Harrier version, issued to the RN pilots. I had to have it. Anyway three years later, and a big search I finally bought it. I will post pics tomorrow! Good to be part of a forum dedicated to Breitling! James |

Welcome aboard! There's a few members from across the pond here. There are several here that are very knowledgeable about timepieces. I just looked up the watch you mentioned (Not the £20 Timex! Ha!)...Very cool. So they issued these to Royal Navy pilots? Nice bonus for being a Royal Navy pilot! Love the Harrier, I'll be sad to see it go when they retire it over here. Welcome again! ~Brian |

Quote: So they issued these to Royal Navy pilots? Nice bonus for being a Royal Navy pilot! They did indeed, only 50 made as far as I know. Now I need to get myself through the RN's AIB and through to Valley on the fast jet pipeline haha Quote: Love the Harrier, I'll be sad to see it go when they retire it over here.
Yes it will be a sad day when it is decommisioned! I know the JSF will be far superior, but the Harrier has character! I think the Navy pilots were pretty peeved when they decommisioned the FA2 over here(the one my Aerospace is based upon) , as they're now using the RAF variant of the Harrier. Thanks for the welcome! |
