Just found the site and signed up.

I have been a fan of Breitling's for a long time and especially the Aerospace. So it was a very happy moment when I had the chance to purchase one on vacation last week. Previous to this purchase, I had a Tag 3000 that I bought over 18 years ago. What follows is my purchase story.

On my cruise to Alaska, there is the usual onboard jewelry shop, while my wife looked at rings, I was drawn to the watch section. Namely the Tags. I looked at the Carrera chronograph as well as an Aquaracer that had just arrived. I got some prices and had to mull it over. Those watches were not going anywhere and it was just the first day. My wife knew I was looking for a new watch and gave me the go ahead if I wanted one of those Tags. We had another day at sea and I as I mulled over the decision, I pretty much knew I was going to get a new watch, I just wasn't sure which one I really wanted.

Well we hit Ketchican the next day and went into town. The first shop we hit was actually an AD for Tag and Breitling. I had the AD point out the titanium models. Knowing full well the Aerospace was one of the models. Interestingly enough, my wife took a look and said, those didn't look that good. I then looked at the Tag's, but after looking at the Ling's the various Tags just were not doing it for me.

That night I was thinking I can live with Carrera, but I couldn't shake the feeling that wasn't the watch I wanted. The same thing happened when I got my first Tag. I looked at two watches, both were Tag's but one was an automatic chronograph and mine which was quartz. There was a large price difference and pretty much every so often I wish I spent the extra money for the chronograph model. So needless to say I didn't want to spend the next 18 years yearning for another watch.

Next day we were in Juneau. Of course there were many shops to visit. The first shop I looked at was the AD for Tag, got escorted to the other location that had Tags on display and saw nice Grand Carrera Calire 8 RS. Truth be told if the salesperson was better I would probably have bought that watch. I know it may sound strange, but this guy's attitude totally put me off. So for that I am very thankful he was an axx.

On our walk back to the ship, I saw the Breitling sign and was drawn in. The salesperson was just finishing up a transaction with a customer who I later found out purchased a Breitling and a nice piece of jewelry for his wife. I was drawn to the Aerospace with the blue face. The salesman was a pleasure to work with. He explained all the functions and described the Emergency model as well. I knew that wasn't for me, but I know a friend that this would suit perfectly. This time as I placed the watch on my wrist, it just fit perfectly. The proportions suited me just right. I have a smaller wrist so many of the chunkier watches just look out of place on my wrist. My wife even commented that this is a great looking watch and looks great on my. We worked out a fair price and once the Ti band was resized, I wore my new purchase out the store.

For the rest of the cruise you could see me staring at my wrist every so often. I'm sure some people might think I was crazy, but I have had no regrets. Okay one regret, I wish I bought one sooner! ;)

Thanks for reading and I really can not express how much I love my watch. I think it suits me perfectly.

Welcome aboard (seemed appropriate given the cruise story)!

It's good to see another convert from the world of Hurlers

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm going to an AD today to take a look at some straps and probably some other models as well.

Oh big mistake going to the AD.

Never got a chance to inquire about the bracelets.

There are 2 AD out where I'm at, and the one I didn't really get the service I was expecting. I went in actually to just get a battery replaced on my Longines, I took off my Aerospace before I went in, and hovered by the display case. Eventhough they were doing the battery, nobody came by and offered me any assistance.

So off to the other AD. This is the first time I have ever been to this store. At first I was alone admiring the large amount of display space the Breitling's commanded. Then a very nice lady came by and helped me out. She stated they were have a promotion that would last until the end of August and it was like upto 25% on some models. I don't really buy watches all that much, as you can tell, my last major purchase was like 18 years ago. So that discount really threw me.

Next I looked at a Superocean and then I think it was the Chronomat Evolution with a nice blue dial. Oh that was just amazing. I tried them both on and the Evolution was really speaking to me.

I have to hand it to the saleslady, she was really trying to close me good. But alas I wasn't quite ready to pull the trigger.

Here I thought my Aerospace would cure my itch for at least another 10 years, and within 10 days I am ready for another watch. :)

OK, I know, I'm a bad influence

But I'm right

Really? I must have some self control. Must not buy, must not visit Ad.

Did I mention I was able to snag a full catalog? I've been flipping through the book daily. Oh, I'm a lost cause.

So nice to find other people that understand.

Bah, who needs a new TV.
