Hello gentlemen (or do we also have any lady collectors/afficionado's?) I'm also new to this forum. Not sure if I can contribute at all to the discussion, as I am just a collector of old watches - and not in a very structured way. Found this site, and must say: it looks sophisticated to me, the forum is populated by pleasant peolple who as a collective seem to know quite a lot about the subject. One of the watches in my "collection" is a Breitling Chronograph. On the back I found two (serial?)numbers 0 - 259982 and 417202 There is also an inscription, dated August 1942. I did not really find any information - or did I overlook? Could someone shed some light? Many thanks 2annire8 |

Welcome to the forum, you might want to post your question in the Vintage section, though you should please include pictures of the watch, ideally including movement and inside/outside caseback. I do not recognize the first number and it does not fit into the expected reference range, the 4xxxxx number could be a period correct serial number, though anything before 1944 is not documented. |
