Just thought I'd say hello. I've been a small collector for a while and just picked up my first Breitling. It came with the mesh bracelet but I also picked up and aftermarket rubber and leather strap. I'm thinking a NATO might be a good fit as well.

If anybody has a picture of the B23 movement I'd love to see what's hidden the case. Most of my other watches have exhibition backs and I'm fighting the urge to crack this open.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Visually the 23 looks identical to an ETA 7753 other than the Breitling rotor.

Thanks Roffensian. Do you know if there much in the way of decoration on the bridges and plates, blued screws?

Breitling uses the chronometer grade which has blued screws (chemical, not heat), perlage and cotes de Geneve decoration.

Thanks again. It's too bad they either remove or buy the movement without the quick-date available on the 7753. I had to buy a winder that actually works just to avoid painfully setting the date every time I wear it.

I was a bit surprised about the advice I received from a Breitling rep about how to quickly set the date. He said after you hit midnight and the date wheel turns, to rewind the hour hand until 7 and then back passed midnight. Any idea if this is actually a safe practice?

It's the standard way to change the date on many watches without a quick set date - usually requires moving the time between about 9pm and 3am. If you don't want to buy a winder 30 seconds of winding via the crown each day that you don't wear it works just as well :-)

Just put the mesh on and removed a link. Super comfortable.
