New to the Breitling brand and very interested to learn more! I've been offered a 1964 ref 806 but from the basic research it doesn't seem to be as simple as it's seems and I'm looking for some expert advice.

Appreciate it's not the best condition but thats not my main concern, don't mind a ratty watch if it has history and stories along with it.

Main thing I know is the red bezel isn't original but beyond that I can't tell much more. Looking forward to learning more!

Poor condition but the “wrong” things are
1 Crystal
2. Crown
3 sliderule
4. Pushers replaced
5 left side subdial has a wrong hand

The main annoying things are the Crystal - easily fixed, and the subdial hand - hard to fix.

Does the bezel look like this from the side?

no, wider than that as you can see in one of the photos, I think it illustrates it at least!

I asked because your bezel looks odd. Better photo might help.

Looks like one of those special milled edge bezels that Kurt B has posted about before, although I have never seen a gold plated one.

As an aside, you have to give the watchmaker an "A" for ingenuity for managing to fit that tachymetre "slide rule" to get over the lack of an original slide rule problem

On further research it looks like it's based off of this watch but with a red bezel and maybe different crystal? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Gold ... SwfBVdllAD

Lower right lug looks rather bent, lower strap looks a lot snugger than the top one. If it is bent they are at risk of snapping if you try to have them straightened
