Many of you have seen this watch on eBay

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F254464129337

But please know that the dial is not correct for a Wide Bezel 62’, it’s from a 65’ AOPA Navitimer / Cosmonaute, minute and sweep hands are slightly too short, and the case back is fake.
The screw notches looks like a butcher molested them, and the “seventeen jewels” engraving in the movement is missing.

incorrect without doubt - I‘m on vacation, so have no access to my samples and pics database, caseback certainly looks weird, although the serial checks out correctly for the June 1962 wide bezel batch.

Kurt, the „17 Jewels Unadjusted“ is there, but clearly different from the markings on the allblack wide, logo on the chrono bridge seems correct for these movements. do you have a pic at hand for a correct panda wide?

weird piece indeed, someone will get burned badly and try to convince us this is a „rare transition“

Might be having a pre-coffee morning moment, but I only see a movement pic you posted, with a small hint of a caseback in the corner?

Yes I’d like to see an original caseback as I’m no wiser,

I suspect the seller doesn’t actually know what they are selling as they also say it’s from 1964 and they say its gold plate. Probably copied another listing.

Appreciate that the milling/finishing is different, but the stamping/ fonts look identical With my eyes. Can you fake that?

Trust me, the only thing on a watch like that, than can’t be faked - is the dial.

I get it Kurt, but forums are here to discuss a learn, and “believe me” doesn’t further that aim. I find it hard to believe that someone would fake a caseback on what must be one of the most estoteric Breitlings that exists, where very very few people would even care about that particular execution, and then it finds it way on to to the market via an eBay seller that has no idea what they’re selling. Doesn’t make sense to me. I’d suspect the origins of variation are in the factory and not in the mischievous hands of a faker...
