All, This forum has a wealth of information and I have very much appreciated reading everyone's post to educate myself in this process. I am looking to make my very first purchase of a vintage Breitling and I am very much in need of the opinion of the experts. Specifically I am looking for a all black dial AOPA Nativtimer from 1955-1962. Could everyone be so kind to give their opinion of this one? I think it dates to 1960-1962. Thanks a ton in advance. Looks fine to me except the hands look to have been painted given how white they are but no biggie. |

Agree the hands do look very white but the owner claims both the hands and the dial have never been retouched fwiw |

The luminescent material in the hands is clearly not original, so you’ll need to take the sellers claims with a bit of scepticism. |

Thanks for the heads up. From a value perspective is having original untouched hands pretty essential? Would a true collector opt to swap these hands for ones that are original? |

Well it is about little details and originality, for some very important and others not. I personally would love to have it all original. Finding those hands in original condition is a hell of a quest. But hunting is the fun of collecting right? |
