Have my grandfathers watch and am being told it’s early 60s and may be rare bc it’s a cosmonaut 809 with navitimer face and the only logo at 12 o’clock is the AOPA wings. Any guidance is much appreciated.

Easy! Breitling AOPA Cosmonaut ref. 809. Gold plate version circa 1965. Beautiful condition!
Less of these were made than there Navitimer 806 brother but not extremely rare. Gold plated versions of both are less desired than stainless steel versions but you have a fine example. Hope you wear it in good health!

Thank you Wayne I appreciate it. Do you know what what the ballpark value would be? I also have the box and papers.

I’d put value at $3.5-$4k range in this condition. If it had stainless case, $6-$6.5k in same condition.
