Hi,

I've recently came across a watch with a beautiful dial.
It's being listed as a vintage breitling from around the 70s.

Serial number doesn't ring any bells, seller agreed to open up back case to look for further clues but still no idea about make/model.

Any of you that could shed some light? Really love the look of this watch but would love to know the make/model (even if it genuine) before buying.

Many thanks in advance.

Not familiar with the watch, but the logo on the caseback isn’t correct, so I suspect the whole thing is not genuine.

That would be a real shame. Love the look of this dial.

What exactly isn't right about the case back logo? (For my own future reference)

And is there any similar looking make/model of breitling that I can persue that you guys know of?

Many thanks!

Companies are normally pretty good at keeping the font of their logo identical. Look for example the last letter g, and the size of the loop. Certainly wrong. And compare that logo to the one if the dial. Are they identical?

Thank you both for your input. Looks like you saved me from purchasing a fake watch with a pretty hefty price tag!

If there's a way for me to contribute towards server costs or something for this website, I'd be happy to chip in.

Similarly, if you both want some beer money on a personal PayPal let me know. I'm not a watch expert in any way (clearly), but was taken away by the beauty of this watch. Almost cost me quite a few hundreds of dollars.

Any idea of similar looking vintage breitlings purchasable for +/-1000 euros?

If I had to pay for all the advice I’ve been given from this forum over the years, I’d be poor poor poor (but with a nice watch collection)

You can pick up these “time only” Breitlings for less than $1000 quite easily (eBay,auctions) although they tend to be gold / gold plate.

Not sure if it floats your boat, but maybe be in the looking out for an old transocean like this one. Certainly less that $1000
