Hey guys,
Wondering after another vintage chrono again. I've seen lots of different dial styles under the 765 reference number and it all seems a little confusing to me. Is this one authenitc? I've seen others similar to this, but without the geneve and cobranded with Wakmann. Does that mean this one was just sold originally in Europe? Thanks in advance for the help!Image

Word of warning on this...

Although the 765 in the picture is correct the photographs and specific watch are not owned by the ebay seller that has listed the watch.
The one in the photos is actually my watch listed here...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BREITLING-765-Premier-Chronograph-Venus-178-Vintage-1960s-Rare-pre-Top-Time-810/223469930676?hash=item3407d888b4:g:ntUAAOSwseFcLOK0

The auction on the fraudulent listing ended with bids but I'm not sure if it actually sold as the seller recently contacted me to see if I wanted to buy his watch.
I would be interested to know if anyone ended up buying the other watch and what they actually recieved...

To WatchFred
I have the same timepiece that belonged to my late father, which I sent to Breitling recently for service. The serial number corresponds to their June 1966 production run.

Just wanted to add a note to this thread. Wakmann Watch Company was a French watchmaking firm who imported Breitling watches into the USA from the 1950's until the 1970's. They also collaborated on a Ref. 765 so there are some out there with both names on the dial and some signed Wakmann.

A question -- you mentioned this particular watch sold at a reasonable price in the 60s -- any clues as to how much?

Thx

Wakmann had no connection to France besides buying some watches from there.

no, the Breitling was in the “prestige” segment, where did I write about 765 Premier pricing?
