The serial number font is questionable, it shouldn't have a signed crown based upon that serial number, the movement is much later than the case (based upon the serial number) and doesn't belong in it. All pretty obvious.

I have posted that watch in the forum back in November and at the time watchfred seemed to believe it was correct. It seems we have a "battle of opinions" on that one!

My views on this watch:

It is generally correct; someone has swapped out the original unsigned bridge for a later one. They probably did this at the same time they put an incorrect signed crown on the watch. The hands are not 100% correct but they are not horrible offensive. And the plexi is wrong but this is as minor as it comes.

IMHO a nice watch with some easily resolvable issues.

Fred probably just gave it a quick look. Even discounting the serial number font, BOW and that Breitling lettering on the signed bridge were on much later 769's starting about 1954. The movement doesn't coincide with the serial number of the case. At the current level of bidding I would expect something completely correct.
