Post subject:  Datora 2018 - Too good?

Hello all,

I have to confess, while a veteran watch junkie, I am starting my first foray into the vintage pool. Going to my Breitling AD and talking watches and playing dressup is a whole different animal from this world and I genuflect at your collective greatness to help me through my new found 1969 - 1975 fascination.

In my hunt for Ref 814 or related Top-Time, I found this Ref 2018 that seems a little too good to be true under $2k. Am I missing a glaring problem here? I am really taken by this unique creature, but don't need to be taken for a ride by it. It looks like it would be a remarkable watch for the rotation.

Dealer lists it as NOS out of Germany. Serial number seems to put it at 1975 which seems (from my novice perspective) to gel with the style/ref timeline. The lume looks like it could be appropriate for a Safe Queen, but it just seems a little too juicy.

Any input would be kindly appreciated.

Hi there,

I just stumbled on your post and realise it's 12 months old but did you go through with the purchase? I ask as I have just purchased something similar (ref 2018), also listed as NOS.
