Fred, I expect better from you :nono:

That is no way to welcome a brand new legitimate member who is in no way connected to the almighty sage (may we all bow down  ) and needs the expert advice of strangers about whether or not he should make a 500% return on his investment in a week.

At the very least the response should have been:

:nana: Welcome to BreitlingSource!

I dont understand, if an expert already looked at it in person why do you even bother asking here ?

Or do you not trust the expert opinion ? , i am sure he will provide you with a certificate pf authenticity as well.

But maybe I will never find such Datora again, they are extremly rare. I had seen only one more in internet in the past 5 years.

Here's what you do - (i) contact the seller and tell him you can provide him access to a market for these and you'll take all he can make - er provide, (2) open up a bogus website, call it Rare Watch Lounge Museum or some such silly thing, and (3) peddle these as rare one of a kind pieces to unsuspecting purchasers at ridiculous prices.

Roff, German roots?

Strange things are going on. Seller and buyer in the same thread. As I've written: I think, Mr März has bought this watch as a bargain.

Well I happen to know for a fact that Mr. Marz has been buying a lot of non Breitling calendar watches from eBay recently (he stupidly used one of his buying accounts to sell an item using the usual photos so it's easy to identify him), so clearly he is in the business of producing Datoras at the moment!

so they grow up, because there exist no more.

Hello, I'm back. Sorry if I annoyed some preferred members here.

I thought about it some days, 5000, - euro are much money and the watch should be a surprise for my wife for Christmas. She loves small calendar watches.

Then I asked my wife, and she said, "sell it", then we can make Christmas holiday in Dubai from winning.

Right now I sold the beautiful watch to the Breitling specialist and have 5000, - euro cash, and i got avery interesting orignal 1952 Breitling catalog as gift..He was a very kind man and explained me a lot about this rare calendar watches. Then he showed me his private collection of more as 70 of these small calendar watches with moon phase of different brands and explained to me the differences. Thank you very much, if you read here.

Nevertheless, this watch was very nice, and I would buy later a Beitling triple calendar with moon phase. But I prefer the automatic caliber Felsa 693. Although I know that is much more expensive, but maybe there are again a bargain. Until 6000, - euro I can invest.

I prefer the reference 86-28, 88.28, 90-28, 94-28 or 95-28

It would be nice if you could let me know if you find such a bargain.

Thank you

No interest in such considerations here, imho members are not interested by your holiday projects allowed by watch sale . I suggest you to visit planet März :strummin: :strummin: :strummin:

Augstein, thank you very much for your very interesting report from which we have all here learned a lot.

The Felsa 693 Datoras are a good choice, they are the much improved successor of the Rolex 6062 with bi-directional winding. These watches will still get big price increases in the future.

gratulation for your win and nice holidays.

This will be the only public post that I make on this topic so I suggest that everyone reads it carefully and takes it seriously.......

Several years ago the account for 'breitlingmuseum' was banned on BreitlingSource after numerous warnings both public and private. Since then that individual has tried to come back to the site under numerous other usernames and they have also been banned. He still comes here and contacts members, and has at least one non posting account.

Over the last few years this site has grown in size and in importance to the vintage Breitling community but I have tried to continue to be as tolerant as possible in my moderation style - some would say that I am too tolerant. However, I am firmly convinced that a number of associates of that multiple times banned member continue to be active on this site and are posting misleading and inaccurate information that is damaging both the reputation of this community and the value of the information that it contains. I will not allow that to happen.

Please therefore note that the next post from someone that I believe to be an associate of that individual, that supplies what this community believes to be misinformation, will result in a ban for that member and for any IP addresses that I believe to be non-masked. This should now not surprise anyone if it occurs!

Hello Augstein,
we thank you very much here in the forum for this very interesting story, and I congratulate you to your win.
Now you've made me curious about the Datoras with auromatic calibers.

Previously I've only been looking for a 784/785. but now am more interested about the models with the the reference 86-28, 88.28, 90-28, 94-28 and 95-28 as this real iconic genuine 88-28 in this topics viewtopic.php?f=11&t=49003 or here viewtopic.php?f=31&t=49605 and
But those are probably even harder to find.
I will definitely look intensive and hope to find one cheaper than a 5000,- Euro.

Maybe you all can help me here in the forum when you see one.
