Greetings Breitling Fans,

I ran into this vintage timepiece and seller claims that its an early Breitling with Venus 120 !! movement.

What do you think?

I think that the seller is lying.

What the heck is a Venus 120 anyway, I've never heard of it and can't find it on the pink pages either - don't have a Bestfit catalogue at work to check that.

Dial looks too small for the case, doesn't look like any early one pusher that I have seen and don't recognise the model number. Don't see anything Breitling here.

Venus 120 never heard and could find also, the guy refers to Ziggy Wesolowski author of The Concise Guide to Military Timepieces, that he was owning this piece and got it from him, as early Breitling. Thats his story. Wanted to check with you here, if there might be any truth in it.

. . . but my imperfect recollection of Ziggy's eBay listing a few months back was that he said it was "like" a Breitling from the period. I judge it to be highly unlikely to be made by Breitling.

so I think now the buyer from Ziggy , even though he describes in his listing as: ' it is likely to be a very early Breitling dating to the late 1930's and has a Venus movement ', the sales title says rare Breitling Vintage . So definitely not a Breitling but an early chrono

I didn't have time to go through Bestfit last night, but I can't find that movement anywhere, it's a very odd design. Maybe Craig has seen one before?

Landeron 32 would be my best (non-expert) guess:

No.

Yeah, I think you are right. I was looking for the family on the pink pages and looked at landeron as an obvious choice, but they don't have the 32 family.

I think you are right looks Landeron 32, when I googled the caliber,a French website http://www.invenitetfecit.com/modeles/p ... tling.html with this or very similar watch came- scroll down. Its mentioned there also landeron 32 Chrono from 1936.

Calibre de chronographe sans compteur Landeron 32, c. 1935. Le mouvement est très proche, mais certaines pièces présentées dans la planche du catalogue Breitling sont légèrement différentes.

For a French speaking person looks like a lot of information on site

The fact that Breitling made 12 ligne one pusher chronographs (with completely different reference numbers than the the one you posted) does not make this 12 ligne one pusher chronograph a Breitling.
