The Breitling Watch Source Forums

I took a punt on this rather tired looking quartz diver recently and after Googling for a bit I can't find out any information.
This has me wondering if it's genuine or not

It has a Breitling signed screw down crown, Breitling on the case back with the same amount of wear as the rest of the back and the dial is signed Breitling, and whilst not as faded as the hour markers, is still has a bit of age to it....The case feels nice and heavy and has the sunburst brushing on the top (similar to my 1450 chronograph). A lot of the signs tell me it's a quality watch, but I cant find any reference any where!

Breitling did some strange things near the end, but don't recognize this and the dial markings do look rather minty. Only other possible place for references would be inside of the caseback.

BTW, love the username - I spent the first 22 years of my life living in a village called Eccles.

It's genuine but has the wrong hands on it. I picked this one up a couple of years ago.

Since we're talking vintage dive watches, here's one I just received yeterday from about the same timeframe.

When do these watches date from roughly?

I'm thinking they were produced prior to 1985 so probably about the time Breitling was purchased by Schneider in the 1979-1984 timeframe.

What great old pieces. I have not seen even photographs of these before. So, I did not know that these existed before now. Thank you all for posting them!

Sadly mine is going back to the seller.
I don't mind the general condition, but the glass seems to be glued on and goes around with the bezel, as does the chapter ring!
