I bought this 1953 Breitling vintage watch last year. When I tried to sell it this week someone suggested that it was a fake as the logo on the dial didn't look correct. I would be most grateful for some comments or thoughts on this please.

Fake - is it likely that a watch from 1953 would have a dial that looks like it was produced yesterday?

In my simple mind, I imagined the watch had simply been restored.

that could well be true, but movement markings seem wrong too.

Thank you very much, WatchFred.
Here's a photograph of the back of the watch:

The chap I bought it from says that the watch is genuine with a restored dial.

Thanks

well, I am not an expert by any means for the early 50s 3-hands,
know nothing about correct movements for these and the vast
majority are "made-in-China" fakes, but, although Richter does not
list ref. 2910, the often rather questionable Israeli Breitling museum does:
http://www.clubbreitlingisrael.co.il/si ... aWord=2910

dislike the starburst dial design, have never seen a convincing example
that made me believe it was an authentic Breitling, but I live to learn;
caseback does not look bad.

Case is real, dial is wrong (not restored), movement - well, I have my doubts.

Looking at the photos on Photobucket, the Breitling "B" logo on the dial (Shot 2) looks clearly wrong to me.
