Yes, but the bridge engraving may not be.

I imagine that a lot of members are swearing right now because they were hoping that this one would slip through.

it is real, even including the bridge engraving imo, it is exactly the same as here:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=36832&hilit=bridge&start=15#p274519
and in line with other mid 40s 18k 178s I have seen.

a surprisingly nice piece, considering this is a seller that does not shy away from listen frankens quite frequently.

You're probably right about the bridge Fred, just wasn't clear enough for me to be sure.

Thank you very much for your input.

Being a Noob., I'm not sure if any of this matters, but when comparing to a known example of the model ( viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24136 ) I notice some differences:

- presence of the word "METAL" engraved on the back face of the case
- absence of an "engine turning" pattern
- presence of some sort of washer? or other light silvery colored metal on the post for the hands, beneath the tachy hand but above the hour/minute hands

Are these variations in manufacture, differences in model, or incorrect parts?

Again, thank you so much for your time to a Noobie posting.

It all looks fine to me. The metal movement ring is simply so that the watch fits in the case properly. Not sure whether by engine turning you mean guilloche on the dial or decoration of the movement, but both look correct for me on a piece of this vintage. I think that what you are seeing as a washer is actually a non blued mount for the minute hand. It may not be original, but not really a cause for concern.

Thank you all. This is my first Breitling, something I've dreamed of for quite some time!

I certainly wouldn't have been comfortable 'pulling the trigger' without the advice of this forum's members. You've added a vintage Breitling owner to ranks - certainly proof that your efforts promote the interest in these fine old treasures.
