I purchased this watch recently and it was smaller than I was expecting. I was looking for something more for everyday. I love the way it looks and if I were in a suit more often I would probably keep it but would rather put the money toward something more functional. At the time that I purchased it, I believe it to be a Breitling or the movement be at least Breitling. I posted on reddit and there was a consensus it's a "fraken." For me, that doesn't take away from it being a beautiful and fully-operating time piece. I might fall in the minority, but if it's an old gorgeous watch that still runs well, I don't have much problem with it. I am not trying to pass it off as an original/authentic piece but I would like to list it and don't want to mislead anyone. Can you review my listing and let me know if there are any corrections I should make?

sorry, no friendly way to put it, pathetic junk.

Not franken, because this would indicate some authentic parts have been combined with other, typically noname components. This is just a fake, with a refinished dial that somebody had decided to decorate with a Breitling logo.

Let me guess, you bought this from Argentina ?

Thanks, Buenos Aires. :( Is there anything redeeming about it? I had a lot of compliments from it and it's keeping time just fine!

If it was a Duck...You wouldn't call it an Eagle, would you?
It's not a Breitling....Yet you call it a Breitling.
Label it.."FAKE BREITLING FOR SALE" :lingsrock:

Is it still allowed to be sold if I said it was a fake?

It's the only way...The people here will contact E-bay as a fake, which you have admitted it is.
If you sell it as a Breitling you have committed fraud.

Any idea what movement it has? Can someone please enlighten me on what makes it obviously a fake/what's wrong with it?

I think you should keep it...And wear it every day.
As a reminder....Think twice and ask an expert.....Ask two experts!
Then think about it for a couple of days....Then buy.
This has been a good lesson on buying from E-bay.
Can you send it back? Did you use PayPal?

I did use PayPal and sent the seller a message for a refund.

Quite truthfully, I don't mind purchasing a Franken if it's a Franken using manufacturer-like parts i.e. a Breitling using all Breitling parts. I guess to me the vintage style watches are more classic looking and appealing to me than the super chunky chronos so popular today. Are there sites that sell actualy Franken-watches that are reliable?

you are most welcome. good of you to end that listing, you should try to recoup your money through paypal or a cc chargeback. if you decide you like a watch, just post some pics here, we will be glad to help.

just avoid all of South America, China, beware of sellers in Italy or Turkey, think twice before you trust some of the high feedback vintage traders from Florida, many are just fronts for the counterfeiters from Argentina. We can not help you to find "good" frankens, as these do not exist. So either pick some noname watch you like and enjoy wearing it, or go for an authentic branded watch, you will need help to find those.

Sorry to hear that but from your ebay link your listing is more than 90 days old, don't think paypal will offer protection anymore since it's valid only for a few weeks(45 days?)? Will the credit card company still offer protection if more than 90 days assuming you paid by credit card?
