yes, the seller based his description on the serial number , which was confirmed by breitling to be a mistake
personally I believe these are later (1960) based on WOG , bead count, logo, etc based on investigation done by Kurt , myself and many others

I also believe the original owner (our german friend) believes this as well. If he truly believed these are 1953 pieces he would have priced them higher than the V72 pieces ! , which he offers at a mere 15K euro's a piece

Wouldn't buy from that seller even if it was a 1953.

there's a load of other 'strange' things about the pieces that that particular seller sells or tries to sell

look at what mr schroeder/herbert/michael/topwebsells/BSlounge tries to sell in this thread

yeah, looks great , doesnt it ? .. until you realize it was a very nice watch and now its just another build together Franken watch as many other watches he tries to sell ..

Why you ask ?

Look at the dial, see where it says '21 Rubis' ... now have a good look at the movement.. and *SURPRISE SURPRISE*

Its says 17 jewels ..

so either a wrong movement or a wrong dial. if the movement is correct then the dial has been replaced with the incorrect one, the correct one should then just say 'automatic' with no reference to the number of rubis. I am also questioning the WOG on this piece but I havent seen enough of these to verify these also came with the WOG and not just BOW

Another try to get someone to part with their hard earned cash... zum kotzen

and before schroeder and/or Herbert Maerz comes in with a plate of wet noodles (thanks Bill!!) saying 'Oh !.. its a factory error they all have that'

here's a genuine movement

Wow, I would think the seller would be honest after charging over the top money, wonder how many fall for those watches. Well spotted!
