What I see looks OK, what I don't see worries me - no movement shot.

seller talks about water damage, but does not specify the extent, might be a reason he prefers not to show the movement ?
restoration of a water damaged Venus178 can get expensive pretty quickly, also make sure you have a competent watchmaker available to do the restoration work.

once restored/fixed it might turn out to be a very expensive watch

'traces of green on the silderule ring' may indicate a lot of moist (= oxidation inside) , most likely the ring needs to be replaced as well and those are expensive if you can find one

I have very little experience with having a water damaged V178 repaired but a can image that can get expensive very quickly as well depending on the damage extend

so depending on the final price you may end up paying at least as much as you would for a better 806

this might be a better bet

or even a restored one in france ? (send him en e-mail and make a bid offline)

and it has a breitling restoration invoice for 500+ euro's , so that gives you some idea how much it would cost throught Breitling , but the resident vintage expert Chronodeco might be a better option

that doesnt look too bad actually , seems repairable / restorable to me ?
again , repair price + ring may still set you back quite a few FF's / euro's

and I never realized these had serial numbers both on the inside AND on the outside

There's evidence of rust though (chrono arm top right looks worst) so it's going to get expensive. I would move on to the next one.
