First of all i´d like to say hello to all of you.
I´m quite a fan of vintage watches and got myself a vintage Breitling which im not sure about the date and if its fake or not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a serial number on the inside of the caseback? That will help with dating. Hands aren't original, and I don't think that the crown is, but looks broadly correct. Not 100% sure about the bridge stamping, but the rest looks OK.

Thank you very much for your opinion! :)

I sadly cant provide a photo from inside the caseback yet, since the watch isnt arrived yet, its bought off the bay without a picture from the serial number.

looks like a rather late 1191, would assume late 60s, early 70s, bridge might be ok, saw similar. A 1191 with those same hands sold out of France this summer, was sure they were non original then, but this is a different watch out of Austria, so those hands might even be correct. As Roff said, we will be able to date it exactly when you post a pic of the serial no. that should be inside caseback. Congrats for the pickup !

Thanks for your opinion aswell!
Before reading few posts in this section i wasnt aware that there are so much fake breitlings around, even from those "old timers".

I will post a pic of the caseback asap.

best regards!

Got the watch, the inside of the case has the number: 898684, didnt manage to make a proper photo with the cam of the mobile phone yet.

best regards!

this would date it to a late 1958 production, quite surprising for this caseback & different from all other 1191s from this period I have seen, the one from France was much, much later, so Roff is definitely right regarding the hands being replacements.

why does it look like the chrome is wearing off the case ?
the case should be solid SS

Didn't notice that, but it does look like that on the lugs. Odd, but watch still looks otherwise correct and right for the period. I think that I'm OK with the caseback for '58.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!

Yes indeed at the lugs the chrome is worn off, from what i see the case isnt solid steel.
