apparently Durner has been relisted on chrono24. Back to the drawing board. Unbow chrono24, the Dawhora is back.

spoke with chrono24 again, Durner threatened to sue them as he had paid for hist listings until the end of November, so another week for the Durner Frankenfake Superstore.

The Dawhora has been relisted on ebay, price has quadrupled again, up to $80,000 or so. Listed this under another of his many aliases, the feedback he has left other sellers and the responses make for quite interesting reading:

well, November is over and chrono24.com kept their promises, the Durner FrankenFake SuperStore has been shut down.

gets you this:

My respect to the management of chrono24.com, who took this issue seriously and handled it very professionally and many, many thanks to Robert-Jan, their social media guy (who happens to publish a very interesting WIS blog at http://www.fratellowatches.com) who, though mainly a Rolex/Omega vintage collector, patiently listened to my explanations why those "Breitling" watches were FrankenFakes, although Mr. Schmitter/Durner/3montana/naxos000/etc., a good and longtime customer, adamantly denied he had ever touched a FrankenFake.

so:          http://www.chrono24.com

(ebay, are you listening ?)

Btw is the Dawhora a real watch? Never seen one like that! Any good articles on it?

cruvon, the search function in this forum is great, maybe you should try it ?

Searching this forum and reading older threads is most probably the best source of information and knowledge on vintage Breitling in the world.

Do not use the standard "google custom search", but the "search" link right below it, next to FAQ; here you can restrict your search to the relevant vintage subforum and search for posts by specific users. You will find that following specific members can be amusing in some cases (Michael TheSage under several aliases or Mr. Enigma) or very, very informative, providing a wealth of documents and insights (will not name those, you will find out).

The term "Dowhora" was coined by Craig/chronodeco in one of several discussions about this specific watch:
http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/v ... w=previous

see previous threads for this one and other Datoras:
http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/v ... e&start=15
http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/v ... +moonphase

The Dawhora has been for sale for years, with pricing from $15,000 to $80,000

Thanks, did google search "Dawhora" but didn't come up with anything:), that explains it that it's a fake, right?

As Fred said, the term was coined by Craig (in the thread that Fred linked to). Dawhora = franken watch trying to be a Datora.

Mr. StarFrankenFaker has another ebay identity, nd0805.

Most of the junk watches I know quite well are now listed in the french classifieds section under "Schmitter" and "Laurent", but this POS is listed as an auction:

as one of our members has been stung again by the enigma of many names, just a short update.

Chrono24 has shut Durner down for good and apparently paypal is not too happy with him either, as he does not offer paypal payments anymore.

Some of the watches we know for so long are still offered on ebay,
current ebay seller name is: 1shivaeye (the former Naxos000 so well known is South America)

the Dowhora is now at €12,500, quite a discount from the peak of €75,000:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXCEPTIONAL-B ... 0184680227

His most ridiculous Frankens are restricted to ebay France, listed in the classifieds section.

Here he uses the aliases of "Schmitter", "Laurent" and "Nina", some examples for those with a good stomach:
the Landeron Top Time: http://annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/CHRONOGR ... 5050804567
an 18k doublecaseback: http://annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/CHRONOGR ... 5050426597
the Sandoz in Breitling disguise: http://annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/TRES-BEL ... 5050426541
an exceptional Moonphase: http://annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/EXCEPTIO ... 5050216893
an Fakeling wíth a nice V72: http://annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/BREITLIN ... 5048857661

latest development (and this is where our forum member was caught in the nets) is a new Frankenfake Superstore on a site I did not know:
http://durner.chronollection.com/index.php?wm=6&pw=1
some seem ok, most questionable, some (like the Sandoz) outright fakes.
