I'm undertaking a minor restoration of the pictured early Breitling Montbrillant, reference A30030.4.
The clasp on the 420A bracelet is a bit of a mystery. I would have expected a highly polished buckle, but this one is brushed. It has been suggested that this was brushed outside of the factory - but the markings seem very crisp to me, and I would have thought these would have been worn down during any aftermarket brushing.
Anyway, any definitive information would be welcome. Also, if anyone has a polished buckle or full clasp, and/or a couple of spare links for the bracelet, let me know as I'd be happy to discuss a purchase or trade.
