Post subject:  OEM Breitling Deployant Clasp

Hi All

I'm looking at buying one or a number of Breitling Deployant clasps for leather straps, but there are so many different ones listed in various online marketplaces, that telling genuine from fake is difficult. I appreciate that Breitling will probably have changed their design and may even have employed different manufacturers to make their clasps over the years, but so far some things that I have noticed are:

  • stamped vs applied "flying B"
  • stamped vs laser printed/etched brand and manufacture markings
  • visible vs invisible hinge pins
  • vastly different fonts and stamp quality

Could a number of you who have what you absolutely know to be genuine Breitling product please post some detailed high-resolution photos on here so I know what I should be looking for. If possible, I'd like to see a variety from different years (and decades) to understand possible variations and account for secondhand items.

...and before the helpful suggestions to only buy from an AD start flooding in, please appreciate that this Australia and they are few and far between, and that I live 400km away from my nearest in Sydney - besides that wouldn't help me secure ones that are close to the period my watches were produced.

Cheers

arcadelt

Interesting. After 24 hours, 31 views and no replies. I wonder if that is indicative of owners not being sure that the deployment clasps they have are genuine. I suspect that if they were acquired anywhere other than with a watch or from an AD, that could possibly be the case.

I suspect it's more that 1) there are many topics and photos here already and 2) your request was somewhat 'demanding'.
