Anyone got a photo of the Bob Marino alligator strap in dark brown? Thinking of buying one to go with my black dial Chronomat 44 GMT but worried it might be a bit too dark brown. A shade or two lighter would be ideal (similar to the Breitling OEM strap)so not offering the slight contrast I am looking for. Attached is the photo from the website. Any thoughts on whether this combo will look good or should I just go with a black alligator style strap?

Buy a couple shades of brown if he has them, there cheap enough. I have a creme colored band from bobs band, not bad,but no comparison to Breitlings bands

I've bought two straps. One a Bob Marino alligator in black and one standard Bob alligator in dark brown. Will post some pics when I get them and will be able to compare the quality between the Marino alligator and alligator standard. I ended up buying the standard alligator dark brown rather than in the Marino style as it looked a much richer brown.

So got my straps as you can see above. Ordered them on Sunday and got them on Friday. Really pleased with both straps. The quality seems good especially when you consider what they are priced at. The dark brown alligator is a standard Bob strap whereas the black alligator is Bob Marino. I tried the dark brown strap on first and after mastering the technique of changing a strap (not as daunting as I thought it was going to be) I was pretty pleased with the resulting look. The standard alligator strap was quite rigid at first but after only a few hours of wear it started sitting better on my wrist and I have no doubt in a few weeks it will be a comfortable strap which sits nicely. The Bob Marino strap I tried on only this morning. This strap was less rigid than the standard alligator and was immediately more comfortable on my wrist. To look at both straps off the wrist, they appear similar quality but when you actually try the straps on, that's when you notice the better quality of the Marino line. In terms of strap thickness, both seem a similar thickness and I doubt you would want a strap any thicker than what these are. Really pleased with the look both these straps have given my Chronomat. It's gives me a bit of versatility.

Can't compare these straps to OEM as never had one and my Chronomat has come off a pilot bracelet but now I can't see myself spending the premium on OEM as these straps are a good enough quality for me to use. I love the look of alligator but like I said in a previous post, don't want to spend +£400 for an OEM strap with a limited lifespan.

IIRC, these are alligator "print" on leather, right? I had one of the Bob's straps a few years ago and it was nice, but took a lot of manual bending to break it in and get it to form to my wrist.

Yeah alligator print on calf leather. The Marino strap doesn't need as much breaking in as the standard Bob strap. Did you have a Marino spec strap from Bob?

No - just the std Bob strap. Thanks for the clarification on the Marino.

Many thanks for this thread. I've been looking at Bob's for my Aerospace and seeing your photos has convinced me to give them a go.

Honey Tan Bob Marino strap arrived today but have hit an unexpected problem - the strap appears to be such a tight fit between the lugs of the Aerospace that I fear once it is in place with spring bars I'll not be able to get it off, and I do like to change my straps! The quality of the strap is not in question at all and I'm sure I'll be able to use it on one of my other watches, just not its intended.
