Hello,

And I half apologise for the tame nature of my 1st post ! I'm a budding Watch Dealer (only Part Time) and have a great love of Breitlings,
I'm trading about 1 a week, and Navitimers are a Particular Favourite, I deal with Breitling UK a lot and think they are fantastic, easily the best "Big" brand Watch Company I deal with (Rolex - not interested Tag Heuer - OK Omega - haven't hard work)

Anyway - back to the Topic, I bought a Breitling Blackbird recently and the Box was a little Worn (and I like things perfect) so I bought a used box from EBay - The box came (bake lite) and it didn't look right at all ! the printing wasn't right, the Leather did not feel right, and their was no Bakelite mark on the bottom, - It also can with Crosswind Special Instructions and when I "googled" them - they often come with Fake Boxes -

My Question is - any good tips for spotting Fake Boxes?

Cheers Everyone Happy Bretiling !

There are a number of fake boxes so the safest way to check is to ask in the replica section before buying. The 'standard' fake box and papers always come with the fake Crosswind Special papers and have an incorrect interior as well as a bad logo.

Boxes are close to my heart!

Bakelite ones and walnut.

Tells on bakelite as pointed out crosswind specials and you will note the angled edges are rounded rather than sharp. Once you have handled bakelite you will also know the feel of plastic and the sheen difference.
