I've read some posts in these forums about never ever using an ultra sonic cleaning device for mechanical watches. But what about quarz watches? Is it safe to put them into an ultra sonic device?

I wouldn't. Certainly not a good idea for analogue pieces because they will still have jewels that could be shaken loose. I'm not sure that it would be quite such an issue for purely digital pieces, but it just 'seems' like a bad idea. The quartz crystal obviously vibrates at a very high frequency when it's operating so that will be fine, but not sure about the rest of what is essentially a circuit board.
