Post subject:  how should i set my watch winder?

ok, i just recieved my wolf designs. viceroy 2.7 (2 watch ) winder.

it is adjustable for clockwise, counter clockwise, and bi directional. along with tpd(turns per day) . starting at 300 and going up to 1200 by 50 increments.

the directions say if you put it on bi directional it doubles your tpd. that being said the watch in question is my oris der meistertaucher. its an oris modified eta 2836-2. which orbita's website says is a bi directional wind, with 650 tpd.

so i have the winder set for 350 tpd, which is actually 700 tpd since its in bi direction mode. i guess my question is 2 fold.

1. will it hurt the watch if im going over the recomended tpd of 650? i dont think so, since if your really active couldnt you wind the watch more than that while wearing it? (and yes im aware of the anti over winding slipper etc. just not sure how sensitive it is?)

2. do i have to or should i have it wind in bi directional mode? or should i just pick clockwise or counter clockwise and get the exact tpd i need?

thanks for the help

Bi directional just means either direction so 650 clockwise or 650 anti-clockwise will work. That said, 700 is not much over the requirements and won't do any harm.

i kinda figured that. i also forgot to mention it has a delay setting from 6 to 72hrs.

for example: i was just wearing the watch all day, assuming it has full tension because i was moving around alot. i set the delay for 6hrs. to give it some time to unwind before ramping up to the winding portion.
