Post subject:  Which is the right rubber and what do BUK charge for it

Been wondering about what to do with the Avenger (Seawold Chrono) the next time I find myself in a deep sea diving situation (not that I've ever found myself in a deep sea diving situation in the past - let's go for fairly deep jacuzzi or swimming at Centreparcs). I don't want to get precious about it as there's no point in having a 1000M watch and avoid getting it wet.

If it is going to get bumped against the leg of an oil rig (ok, knocked on the side of the water slide), I'd prefer for it to be on rubber with tang rather than on a bracelet as I prefer the security of the strap.

As the dial is blue, I'm thinking at a pro II blue would be the thing to go for, but what are the tang options? Polished would match the sides of the case and brushed would match the front. Or do I not get a choice?

And to save me looking horrified in the AD, what do these go for in the UK?

If you want rubber then Pro II is the only option of current models with tang - OR is deployant only. I think that there is still a brushed tang available as well as the polished. No idea on UK pricing, but guessing that it will be around GBP100 - I'm sure that someone can confirm / correct.

You really must give more thought to the wording of your thread title next time. :)

around the £120 mark i was quoted, any 22mm - 20mm will fit, trawl the bay as i picked up a lightly used pro1 for £50 but there hit and miss and getting harder to come by,also there repped very well and is quite difficult to spot, your other option is to find a nice cheap deployment then you can put rubbers on that and the rubbers are £50 new, pro2 and the or and IMO are way better than the dang tang as i cannot get on with them!
Regards Paul.

Cheers, I quite like the idea if the deployant, but those that I've seen have been somewhat expensive. Certainly more than I'd be willing to spend anyway.

To the original poster. We aren't into this sort of filth. Sir, I'll have you know, your predelictations for rubber whilst noted must be curtailed. If you must own such a watch, please keep it to yourself.

If ever a thread need censorship this is it.
