I'm looking for a Wolf winder AD with reasonable discounts. If they have experience shipping internationally, all the better. Can anyone recommend one? In particular, I'm interested in the modular 4.1 units. Thanks.

From time to time, Wolf offers direct discounts. I got a modular set of four 4.1s last fall for I think 40% off or more, don't recall, but I found out from a coupon emailed to a member, and it may have even been posted on their site. I think I did a post here a few months ago when I got a new sale notice.

You can always call them and they are very willing to discount if it is available. Their discounts are frequently very significant, and their sales staff is very good to work with.

Scott and Greg -- thanks for the replies. I was finally able to coordinate with Rob at Topper to order a couple of their Wolf winders (9 hours time difference can complicate things). The shipping charge stung a little but Topper has great pricing. I had emailed Wolf and they wanted me to use their British store -- would have been very expensive, more than $630 assuming that I could get the British VAT rebated; add 20% to that if not.

My Topper 1940 (same as Wolf 4.1) modular winders arrived this morning. Big kudos to Rob for helping me out. Had to give the mailman 63chf for customs/duties but that's just the cost of doing business here. Even so, I got two winders for half the price of a single SwissKubik locally.

My initial impression is that these winders are very well made. The motors are very quiet. Turns per day are adjustable from 300-1200 in increments of 50, cw, ccw, or bi. So far so good.

I have one question that might be stupid but that's never stopped me before. If I set the winder for 400tpd bi, for example, it will do 400 rotations in each direction. The 01 movement needs 800 tpd. That's not 800 in each direction, right? 400 in each direction will give it the 800 total that it needs -- am I interpreting that correctly? Thanks.

It needs 800 total - 800 clockwise, 800 counter-clockwise or 400 each will all do the job.

Thought so but wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Breitling is currently having a 30% off sale for "Dad's & Grad's". The discount code is: dg12. I have had mine for a few months now and love it. It is preforming flawlessly!

Except that:

1) It's Wolf, not Breitling and
2) The code doesn't work

Hondikee video review for the Wolf 4.1 has a 25% off at Wolf site code. Also Topper has a discount on the Topper 1940 4.1, can find it by checking out a review of the Topper 1940 winder, it's at the bottom. I ordered a pair (2 are $388 before the 10% discount)
