I bought a Super Avenger about 5 months ago on rubber but it becomes so grimey when my wrist sweats.
With summer around the corner, I am thinking about getting a black leather strap instead as I don't like bracelets.

I'm in two minds at the moment, I prefer the shiny look of the croc leather as opposed to the matte calf leather, which looks a bit plain imho.
After checking with the jeweller (I can't remember the exact prices he quoted) I think the calf leather on buckle was something like £150 whereas the Croco was about £500

So would you guys say that the croc strap is really worth that extra £££?

Would appreciate if anyone can post some croc straps on a Super Avenger to help me make up my mind.

Personal preference. I'm sure that I'm in the minority but I don't like the look of croc. It's one of the few instances where I honestly prefer the cheaper option.

I love my croc strap, but if you are sweating a lot and especially with hotter months ahead, I would opt for the leather as you will most likely need to replace either one sooner or later and this would be a cost effective solution. I would first recommend the bracelet, but as you are not interested in a bracelet, and the rubber is bothering you, you are really left with leather.

I'm all about breitling croco straps but the price has become silly. Normally, I'd say go for the croco, but only when it comes to black, I prefer the calf.

Try abp paris, get them to make you a custom strap.

Oh yeah, that'll be cheaper!!!!!!!

I assume that GBP500 includes a deployant? In which case the cost of the croc will be a little less and the deployant will last a lifetime.

Assuming it includes a deployant, I'd go croc. The deployant is a big part of that cost (I think my recent one was a $250 line item on the receipt).

Although the Breitling croc strap is expensive, it is substantial and one of the nicest available in my opinion.

I don't think it would include deployant. I recently got quoted £440 for croc strap alone from AD with £210 extra for deployant. (I didn't really want a quote for that as I have croc already but she decided to give me it anyway)

If you have a croc strap on the brain I would get that instead of settling in your mind for a calf, even if you have to go non-Breitling for a croc.

I want a Breitling croc so bad for my Headwind, but last I checked I think the cost, even with maybe a little help from an AD, is still pushing $500 or so including taxes out the door, without deployment (got one of those). Right now it's on a faux shark BOB strap which was on it when I bought it. Still looks pretty good but the thought of the croc on it... I think Stonecreek straps could get you a pretty close, good quality band for probably less than half that. Shark has bought there and knows best but I think I'm close. The Breitling deployment is also great but you can also find pretty good deployments in the aftermarket as well for $50 or less. No sin in working your way up if you're not sure.

A tang croco without the tang buckle is still over $500.

For comfort, you could try a NATO strap if one can be properly fitted. If
this concept is ludicrous, then perhaps a sharkskin strap since it should
withstand nature's rain, your sweat, & other nefarious encounters.

I meant that the deployant, which is invoiced individually, was somewhere around $250, so if he could get the whole thing for 500GBP, it's a good deal in my opinion.
