Post subject:  OEM Calfskin Strap vs Aftermarket

for those who have tried both and can comment on their differences, i was hoping to get your opinion on the comfort factor of the genuine article vs aftermarket. not concerned at all about the look or quality - im only asking about the way they FEEL and if there is a difference in COMFORT.

in the past, ive done aftermarket strap with the butterflyclasp... while i loved the look of the straps, i found it uncomfortable and i would constantly adjust and turn to relieve the discomfort. i couldnt find ling styled depolyant strap option due to my 18mm lug size on the colt chrono.

i now have a skyracer and def want to look at strap options. i currently have pro 2 bracelet. i have myriad ling styled deployant options with the 22mm lug. im prob looking to do BOB on ebay as ive seen their straps. they look good and feel like quality straps... cant beat them from a value standpoint.

i am willing to buy oem IF i there is a discernable difference in comfort compared to aftermarket. but wanted to hear your opinion before i plunk down the $$. if anyone has had a good experience - just as comfortable as oem - with an aftermarket plain leather/calfskin breitling styled deployant strap, id love to hear about it.

thanks in advance for your help!

TBH I'd say that an OEM strap is marginally less comfortable initially on account of them being thicker and of a higher quality that the vast majority of aftermarket straps. Once an OEM strap breaks in, then I've personally found them to be as comfortable as anything, but they do take a while to break in properly.

:yeahthat but you can always do what I do, and what drives some here nuts, manually break them in before you put it on your wrist.
