I am thinking of swapping my montbrilliant DATORA bracelet for a croc with deployment.

Thoughts?

You're mad.

Seriously why don't you just buy a croc with deployment? They're not half as expensive as the bracelet.

New Navi bracelets are about $1550. New croco/deploy about $850

Not mad at all if you prefer the look of the croco over the barcelet.

Just one thing worth remembering on the cost front :- straps should really be considered as consumables to a certain extent. i.e. they will only last a few years (depending on the frequency of wear, etc). Therefore while the up-front cost may be half that of a bracelet, you will have to replace the strap numerous times if you keep the watch for number of years. In contrast you should never have to replace a bracelet under normal circumstances.

If cost is important to you then this is worth considering.

Mad? definitely not. I know part of wearing a Breitling is the Town-clock Bling, but a watch does not need to 'Clang', or put your shoulder out wearing it. A Montbrilliant is more than plenty, I say less is more, even for a Bretling owner.

You can ignore me though, my particualr affliction is the Aviastar... and it has to be worn on a plain strap, or it starts to look er... silly.

Thanks gents, fair points re th straps being perishable but.....the bracelet is just to in your face.

I just think my watch looks a lot classier and classic on a croc.

Mad? No. It's really down to personal taste. I'm a strap man because I find a strap to be much more classier. It also makes the watch to stand out. Again, IMO.
