Post subject:  New Cockpit Lady for the wife

It's FINALLY arrived. I felt guilty for ordering an Airwolf for me back in March, so at the same time, I placed an order for a Cockpit Lady for my wife. (great financial reasoning, right? ... it got worse when I picked up the Airwolf from the dealer, fell in love with a Chrono Evo, and ended up buying that, too) :)

So finally, SEVEN months later, after having the Cockpit Lady custom ordered from Switzerland, delivered to the dealer, then working its way to me, I gave the Ling to my wife last night. She LOVES it. Sadly, I failed at keeping it a surprise the whole time, so she did know it was coming. But, since I bought it as a surprise, and didn't ask her first, it turned out well that she does like it. It's always tough buying a piece of jewelry for someone else (especially when it's a lady) if you don't get their personal choice first. That's the chance you take with surprises.

It's absolutely beautiful. The only change I wish I could make, is that if I could have afforded the full diamond bezel in addition to the diamond face. The diamond bezel gives a whole 'nother level of class and beauty to these watches, but it also adds another several thousand dollars to an already pricey watch. So this is a two-tone 2009 Lady Cockpit, Mother-of-Pearl face with diamonds on a gold (brown) calf strap. I ended up buying the two-tone yellow gold bracelet for it as well--that also adds a whole new level of class to the watch. I'll probably take some more pictures with it, when I put the bracelet on.

In anyone's interested, here's my first threads on my other two Lings, the Airwolf and Chrono:

Very nice - glad she likes it.

Surprised it took so long - my wife's CL was a custom order and that only took about 4 months. Still, it's here now and that's the main thing. This really is a very elegant watch, and while the diamond bezel is nice for the ladies I do think that the regular bezel makes it a little more subtle.

Beautiful. I think you made an excellent choice with the brown strap. It's really a nice combination. I would love to see some pics with the TT bracelet if you get the chance.
Congratulations to you and Mrs. Wildblue.

Thanks... now, I'll give 45 days of that to my selected method/dealer of purchase, to save some $$$. Took some extra time to route the watch finally all the way to my wife.

That makes more sense - and you ordered it across the summer shutdown which will explain the rest.

I put the bracelet on for my wife. Looks SHARP. Here are some wristshots of it with her, and I think they go pretty well with her rings.

I find it interesting that she prefers to wear the watch slightly loose and on the "hand-side" of the "wrist-bone", instead of on the "arm-side" of the bone like I do. To me, it looks/feels like you're just cramming it against the hand.
