Just saw this piece in person yesterday and the AD had 3 in stock, but all already pre-ordered and sold, waiting to be collected. I am pretty impressed by the light weight and the overall look.

I saw this one at an AD and even though it wasn't for me, it wasn't as bad as I'd expected.

I'm pretty sure it won't be for me either, but I'm intrigued to see what it looks like in person....and more what it feels like in terms of weight. If it looks/feels too plastic-like then it'll get a big no-no from me, but if it's more reminiscent of forged carbon then I may consider it as a watch material in future....assuming Breitlight makes it into a more sensibly-sized watch.

Don't know how I missed this thread, but I love my Hurricane! The new Breitllight case is a stunner in the flesh, looks like forged carbon, but different. It's a massive piece, but wears very comfortably thanks to the weight and the strap. Speaking of the strap, the push button buckle is made of the same material as well, and is a great complement to the black and yellow military strap. I've thrown mine on a black canvas as well, change up the look. Overall I really love this piece.ImageImage

I've STILL not seen one in person, but your close-ups do look rather good Matt. Really nice that the clasp is made of the same material too.

BUT I still think it's a shade too large. If it was 44mm, maybe even 46mm, I'd likely be considering one. But my days of anything larger than an SA are gone, so this one is a no-go for me.

Still, I can only imagine Breitling will go down the route they did with BlackSteel and make numerous other pieces out of Breitlight in the coming years.

Well I finally had a chance to try a Hurricane on the other day. First impression - it's massive. Second impression - it's light. Third impression - it's MASSIVE! (Did I mention it's massive? )

That said, I have to say I really quite liked the Breitlight material. It's much more like forged carbon than ceramic, but it certainly didn't feel like plastic either. As a material, my first impression is pretty positive....and if it's as tough and durable as they claim, then I'll like it even more.

However (and my apologies to Matt and any other owners) I just found the size of this particular model to be a step too far for me. My wrists are 7.75" and this Hurricane is right at the limit of the lugs not overhanging my wrist sides. I also personally feel the fact it's a chronograph (i.e. with subdials) shows that the movement is quite small inside such a whopping case.

But it's very nicely executed and quite handsome in the flesh, in a really rugged tool-watch way.

So after seeing it in person, my initial assumptions still hold - this particular model (while being a nice watch) is definitely not for me, but if Breitlight makes it into a more conservatively sized watch, then I'll absolutely consider it.

Looks like that buckle is pretty impervious to desk swirls? I do like the style.

I saw one last week at the NYC boutique and it really is an awesome looking watch!! I wouldn't mind seeing the material trickle down to other watches either. I have like 6.5 inch wrists so obviously i could never wear it in its current form, but it did leave a positive overall impression on me.
