Does anyone else mourn the passing of the 'small' Breitlings? I mean, it's all relative, and lings have always been distinctively chunky - but if you look at the entry-level Colts, they were 38mm in the early noughties, then went to 41mm in the late noughties, and are now 44mm. That's quite a rate of increase, and surely deters quite a few of the small-to-average wristed?

Personally, no. Not at all.

For me, 44mm (and up to 46mm) is perfect, but that's because I have a 7.75" wrist. For me, anything less than 44mm these days just feels way too small, so no I don't mourn the passing of sub-40mm watches in the slightest. But that's just me. :)

I mourn the days when Breitling showed good taste in more than one or two models.

For me the way nicest model in the current range is the Chronomat 41 with the B01.
The very moment it will have the weekday or complete calender feature (preferably on a symmetrical dial, say sg. classy like that of the late Valjoux 72C or the Valjoux 7751, or some other day-date variation I'll run home with a Blackeye-Blue dial on Pilot bracelet.

On today-s model what disturbs me is mainly the "oblique" date window and the over-stressing of the date window by the 45-degree thick line. But first the missing weekday feature...

Best,
Robert

Hello,

I saw for the 1st time this incredible Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime at the new Breitling Boutique in Paris (opened this year last june and the official launch will be done September 27th 2012).
Here is the wristshot taken July 5th 2012 (a special party for another forum in France, Forum à Montres, only 20 guests)

hmmmm, I think "incredible" is a matter of opinion here! This model's been discussed a few times and the overwhelming words used to describe it didn't include "incredible"!

I find it incredible that they managed to ruin such an iconic design as the original Unitime quite this badly.

Hello I had the same reaction before I saw this watch for real, in black face and blue...

Also the mecanism named B05 designed for this watch is perfect, perhaps one of my next watch with Breitling (or the new Emergency one, some news by october or december 2012, according to Breitling France). For sure at next Basel 2013 and for the "Patrouille de France" of course.

So, a live explination by Jean-Paul Girardin From Breitling Suisse in a very good french/english accent

Another one, made by (French accent), Tierry Prissert Breitling USA President. (on the vidéo from the 3rd min)

I have no issues at all with the movement, but that dial ......
really had high hopes after the published teaser pics, maybe this added to the massive disappointment when it was finally unveiled. a pity, as it had real grail potential.
