What a oppurtunity for Breitling, I think TW would look great in a Breit.
TW may not know how to fly but his private jet will do won't it?

Plus TW is too good for a Tag he needs a breitling

Well a few points.....

Tiger Woods would be one of the most expensive endorsements so be prepared for the cost of Breitlings to go up so that you can wear the 'Tiger Woods watch'.

I'm not sure how he ties in to the 'Instruments for Professionals' mantra - sure he is top of his game, but that game has nothing to do with Breitlings - the SuperOcean II ambassador is an extreme diver and pilot - that makes sense (regardless of what you think of the specific ambassador), but I don't see a golf connection.

But above all, why would Breitling want to associate themselves with a serial adulterer - that is hardly the kind of image that a brand would want to associate with.

To be honest I really like Breitlings stance on endorsements. They seem to put a heck of a lot more thought into who they choose in comparison to other companies like Omega for example. Using Herbert Nitsch is a stroke of genius IMO. He's a professional free-diver, and undoubtedly one of the greatest ever, and he's a pilot as well. Sure, he's probably only instantly recognisable to perhaps 1% of the planet, but he is fascinating enough to make (intelligent) people want to know more.

John Travolta is another inspired choice IMO. Yes he's instantly recognisable, but he's not the biggest movie star in the world (indeed he went though some seriously barren years before Pulp Fiction!) but his addiction to flying makes him spot-on IMO.

I'm more than happy that Breitling continues to steer clear of transient stars who's only "right" to endorse a watch brand comes from either starring in a few movies, or being good at a sport that is totally unrelated to the watch brand.

Omega are terrible on the celebrity endorsement front. I mean..... George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Anna Kournikova, Cindy Crawford.... all of them have been (or still are) Omega endorsements. The only one I can think of who is even vaguely appropriate is swimmer Ian Thorpe with the PO range...... but even he doesn't actually swim with the watch on.

Tiger Woods? Great golfer. An endorsement for Breitling? Errr, no thanks!

"I lost a tooth, got stitches and was generally bruised and cut when my wife beat the crap out of me with my 7 iron. But my TIMEX took a licking and keeps on ticking."

There's your endorsement.

Tag is obviously a good fit for him, and stood by him thru this entire ordeal. I don't care for Tiger or his actions, and I don't think he would be a good fit for Breitling. They don't need to sell watches that bad.

I'm not sure that is actually the case anymore, result wise. Maybe he is quite disturbed by his personal life.

Human testimonials are not really the object of concentration in Breitling's advertising. Of course, they have John Travolta, as he is an aircraft fanatic, but they chose him for his aircrafts and not for his acting. Herbert Nitsch is a different point, as Breitling wants to put a little bit of emphasis in its divers watches.

But the real Breitling testimonials are: The Breitling Super Constellation, the Breitling DC3, the Breitling Jet Team, the Breitling Angels, the Breitling Devils and hopefully more aircraft to follow....

I perfectly agree Thomas, but you forgot the Breitling Wingwalkers and Nigel Lamb and his MX2, an Alien in his domain :D

What a pleasure it was to see all of these together in Buochs on July 24 this year. :cheer:

For those of you that are interested just have a look: http://buochs.breitling.com/en/airplane ... ntent=4519
