Hi all,
Hoping for some advice on an issue I’m having with Breitling’s UK service centre in Tonbridge.
I took my 15 yo Chronomat Evolution (A13356) in for its first ever complete service recently. No issues with it at all just the ‘should have it serviced every 5/6 years’ guilt got the better of me, and it needed a good polish!
When I got it back they had changed the date wheel, but changed it to one different to the original. It looks like the one off of a modern non-chronograph Avenger. It is significantly fainter than the original, is disproportionately small for the dial’s date window, AND it is off centre - too high and too left. Images attached.
I queried this with Breitling and sent it back, however they have advised that the date wheel is the correct replacement part for my watch nowadays and that Breitling have just changed the font, and therefore they will not be changing it. At no point have they told me why it needs replacing, I have certainly never had any issues with the date function.
Are they allowed to do this? It has completed changed the look of the watch to me. I’m just not used to it looking that way and cannot ‘unsee’ it. Not only that but it’s now no longer ‘standard’ or ‘authentic’ which surely affects its resale value and desirability?
Has anyone else experienced this? I’m not sure how to proceed. I’m worried they’ve lost, broken, put my date wheel on someone else’s watch by mistake and so cannot put mine back to how it was.
