This superquartz chronograph, 2 1/2 years old, is giving appearance of dead battery, but oddly so in my opinion. Timekeeping stopped today. However, chronograph still works fine. I would think that the chrono would be more power intensive than the timekeeping itself...perhaps not. Your thoughts?

As I happen to be near the AD tomorrow, I might let them take a look. I normally would send to Govberg for just a battery, but perhaps more serious, and needs Breitling service?

To state it more simply....Is there an "end of life", EOL indicator for Breitling analog quartz chronograph? Thanks.

If I remember correctly an indication of low battery on an analogue quartz would be that the seconds hand would move by two instead of the usual one. I suspect something else is going with your watch, for e.g. a particle jamming the main drive train.

Thanks, zak57; I believe you are correct on some, I believe I read my new Citizen is that way. But the plot thickens....less than a day after my initial post of a stopped watch....I picked it up and it was working perfectly. I reset it, and for the last several days it is in perfect time. My completely unproven theory is that something, either electronic or shock-wise, magnetic..? caused a sudden stop, which dissipated and all OK now? A complete guess on my part, but it was in very close proximity to electronic ignition on a running small gas engine.

Time will tell if "working fine" is now permanent, or as you suggest perhaps more likely cause.

Glad it seems sorted, shouldn’t be due a service until it’s at least 3 years old.

Update, finally after 3 months of occasional use, it stopped for good, "probably battery". Out of warranty.
With 15 sided case back and the DLC coating, I did not trust myself to purchase the case die, tool, and do it without scratching case. I also discovered that you better measure correct, as there were about a dozen sizes of 15 sides.
Govberg discouraged me from sending to them "just for a battery? they said". Our rural area is 4 hours from any metro watchmakers.

I sent to Breitling. $190 they quoted with return shipping. I said OK on July 26. So finally, and only after payment, they tell me to expect it on November 10!! Nearly 4 months for what is probably a simple battery replacement and checkover. Such is the world we Breitling fans live in.
