So, to follow up on the story - after a protracted discussion, the official Breitling dealer in Luzern intervened and I got the watch back this week, repaired and renewed.
The bezel looks like a new one, possibly because they sent it back once to the dealer with a steel one, and he sent it back (in the meantime, maybe they melted down the old one).
Interestingly, the B in the reference number has been changed to a D
To apologize for the inconvenience, the dealer gave me a small present.
