I have just changed the date and time on my Skyland. The watch was on a winder and was running but was still 1 hour fast from British summer time. I am now unable to screw the crown down and manually wind the watch. It does turn but with great resistance. The watch was serviced June 2015 and I have only worn it half a dozen times since the service. Does this sound familiar to anybody. ?

I know on my CSO sometimes when the watch is fully wounded I feel a resistance when I try to manually wound it. I never have a problem screwing down the crown however.

Let it sit for 12 hours and try again. If you still have a problem it might require service...

Thanks .i will leave it and see if it slackens off at all. Typically the watch never had an issue for the 1st 6 years before the service. I haven't worn it so often since I got the Seawolf.

Did you change the date within the forbidden time window of 10pm-2am? Easy to do if you don't know if the watch is am or pm and this can foul up the winding & date mechanism. Sounds like a prob in the winding train, will the crown not push in to engage with the screw-down thread or just not screw in?

The crown pushes in to the 1st position / winding position but will not push to the case to screw down . It just has very heavy resistance and will wind but you can feel 'wobble' from the rotor. As far as I remember the hour hand was past 3 0 clock? Pm

Let it run if it is wound and try (gently) again.

The rotor is not disconnecting from the winding mechanism, it's a common issue caused by one screw coming loose. The heavy winding is because the crown stem is also turning the rotor which is also why you can feel it. It won't fit itself and needs Breitling attention. The inability to screw in the crown is probably related, worst case the heavy winding has caused a bend in the crow stem and threads are no longer aligned.

Thanks for the replies guys. My 1st thought was that the crown wouldn't screw down and I was very careful not to exert any undue pressure on the threads. Then I felt a very slow turn in the movement. I will get it sent off to breitling . Not happy after dropping the best part of £600 on a service! As I said the 1st 6 years of its life prior to the service saw no issues at all.

Thought I would give you an update on this story and it's a big THUMBS UP :lingsrock: For the AD and Breitling UK from me. Apparently when the repair estimate came through to my AD. They argued the case that the watch had previously been serviced and hardly worn. Breitling uk have sent the watch back with a free of charge , maintenance service. No mention of the true nature of the problem, but I have my Skyland back. Working, Very Happy all round.

That's great, pleased for you. I had a similar BUK experience a few years back: I used my new Seawolf a lot in it's first year for diving and sent it away for new seals and pressure check which BUK did for free.
