I recently acquired my uncles watch and have no idea what the details/history are and I'm a little bit confused.
I also have no idea where it was purchased or from what dealer but I'm guessing he bought it in NYC.
I have the case, manual, and the Certificat Officiel DE Chronometrestaes which states the following:

A la montre: Chronomat OR 18KT 2 N
numero de serie: xxx7 (don't want to give out complete serial serial )
automatique numero: 2271
Certificat Officiel DE Chronometrestaes en date du: 14.03.1993
par le Bulletin de Marche N followed by a seven digit number:xxxxx29

On the back of the case is D130150.1 Which I already deciphered via the internet.
and xx693.
Everywhere I look online the watch is called a Chronomat Vitesse Not "Chronomat OR"

My aunt told me my uncle wore the watch everyday and it is a bit scratched up but the Saphire crystal is perfect and after watching the Breitling overhaul movie I'm sure this could be restored to its original beauty. As from the looks of it, it hasn't been returned for a factory overhaul in a while or if ever. But the thing is keeping really good time which is surprising and probably a testament to its quality.

So am I safe to assume the the following:
Watch was produced in 1993
Is the actual Serial number physically on the watch?
What is the 5 digit number below D130150.1?
What does the Bulletin de Marche # signify?
I never wear a watch anymore since the arrival the smart phone. This watch is really attractive though. What does a typical factory overhaul cost or is there not a typical one. I'm guessing this watch requires the most expensive one as it will need a good polishing but stainless and gold clean up well.
Can anyone shed any light on this models popularity/rarity and value as well. Not interested in selling it but also don't have unlimited funds if the overhaul is in line with a new watch purchase.

Or is simply french for gold. Vitesse is a variant of the Chronomat, I can't see from the photo whether yours is the Vitesse variant (the model numbers aren't completely indicative). You can't date it exactly in a watch of this old. If it hasn't been serviced ever / in a very long time then it's anyone's guess what a service is going to cost, likely $700 - $1,000, potentially more depending on what is found. The serial number is on the back of the watch, engraved lighter than the model number (presumably the one ending in 693) and I hope the model number on the back isn't D130150.1, I hope it's D13050.1. Would like to see the Chronometer certificate as it's unusual for a watch of this age to have one, and from what you describe the paper doesn't match the watch.
