Hello everyone, I have been a reader for the past several months. My wife finally made me a legitimate Breitling Source member by giving me a new SuperOcean Steelfish. After inspecting the watch I noticed several tiny etchings in the sapphire. I asked my wife if she had purchased it from an AD. She puchased it through a local jeweler that we both know who claims he purchased it from an AD and passed the savings along to us. From the information and pictures on BS.com it appears to be authentic, however I suspect that it might be used. Today I received a call from him, his AD claims that the watch is supposed to be that way because of the anti-reflective coating. I asked for a refund and he obliged. Within the next few days I will be going to the local AD to purchase a mind easing Steelfish. |

Hi, Speaking of anti reflective coating on the crystal, I just notice a very small hairline scratch mark on my Chronomat Blackbird. Its not very obvious but I just hate knowing its there. Can this small mark be polished off? I brought to Breitling Service Centre to see if they could do something about it but they told me its just a very minor sratch on the coating and nothing can be done about it unless I change the entire cyrstal. So can it be repaired by polishing the surface of the crystal? |
