Post subject:  dial color question

I recently bought a windrider chron evolution. I tried to get the black dial with roman numerals (b898). It looks a little like dark gray with black sub dials. Is that even possible? Or am I just seeing things?

Must be a trick of the light. My B-1 dial can look black, grey or silver depending on how the light catches it.

Same thing for my CSO

I think some of the effect is the anti-reflective coating on the crystal. It introduces a slight blue-ish hue that especially effects blue and black dials depending on how the light hits it. On my blue-dial Colt GMT I think the effect is kind of neat, actually.

Although I do not have the black dial, I have also noticed that the guioche pattern on the chrono subdials can sometimes make them look darker than the rest of the dial, even if they are technically the same color.

I think black dial on gold bezel(b821) and gold rider(b918) is different from regular black dial on steel.

I have rose gold bezel and the black dial(b821) looks more like very dark grey with black subdial.

It is definately different black dial color from black dial from steel.

I think they designed the black dial color that way for gold roman.
