I just inherited a broken Breitling from my brother. It says it is a Chronograph Chronometer. It is all stainless steel with a blue face.

It does not work, and the bottom button seems to be stuck in.

My question is how much is it going to cost (best guess) to get it fixed and polished. I have read through a bunch of threads and it seems like a standard service is $500 alone. Am I looking at more than $500 then? Does that include the polishing?

How much would this watch be worth if I just try to sell it broken?

My guess would be if the prospect of $500 upwards scares you you might be better to sell it as almost always you will never get back the ammount you put in for example I recently bought a non working watch for $50 and spent $150 fixing it up,I then decided I didnt want it and sold it for $100,I might be interested in buying it if I saw pics first

As the others have said, first thing to do is post pics. We can then check which model it is and estimate the restored value.

Ok here is a picture although it did not come out that great.

I have now identified that the model is A13358. A Windrider Chrono Cockpit.

List price on the Chrono Cockpit is over $5000 although they can be bought through grey dealers for a little over $3000. A used model in good condition should be worth $2000 minimum. It's it's current state, you will probably get $500-$1000 tops.

A repair and service by Breitling should have it looking like new. Depending upon the parts needed, it may be more than $500 but until you send it them, there's no way of knowing. Servicing includes polishing.

I would guess you're looking at spending around $500 - $600 to get a watch worth $5000 which you can sell for $2000 if you ever wish to.

IMHO, it's a no brainer!
