Recently acquired a Colt Chrono TransOcean but the glass has serious scratches to the crystal itself, so it's in need of fixing or a change.
Could you tell me if replacements are available (even non-original but a perfect fit), or if you know of a good method of polishing Sapphire?

I've read several articles on the web but couldn't reach a definitive conclusion (the scratching is rather deep and there are some pinpoint markings as well). I plan to visit an optical laboratory, their techniques for fixing lenses may apply to crystals as well.

Breitling can supply replacements, costs vary considerably. Refinishing sapphire isn't particularly feasible because it is so hard - no equivalent to polywatch for example.

Thank you for the info! I figured Breitling might still have spares, will give them a try (even though I expect to pay more for the crystal than I paid for the entire watch).
