Hello All,

Still very much a learner on vintage Navitimer but very keen to know more.
I am looking at this 806 Navitimer all black, any problems can be seen? Original dial? Or any comments generally about it?
Same watch on all three photos.
Thanks all!

Hmmm. I think It has at least been relumed (seems to catch the camera light, so it’s shiny) but I guess could be radium given the greenish grey colour. the slide rule has been replaced.a bit hard to tell with the dial to be honest. Others will give their views I’m sure.

Yes, that too, but it’s a reprinted one that is different from the original. For example, see the black triangle under the number 10 and compare that to an original one ( hint - there isn’t one on a correct one)

Oh wow, yes i can see that.
So this slide ruler is like a Breitling service slide ruler from a more recent time?

You can take an old slide rule disc and send it to a dial reprinter and they make them. They’re very rarely done well enough to escape detection though.

Thanks again.
Would this slide ruler with the triangle be a fake aftermarket slide ruler? Or could it be from Breitling too from a later era?

It’s wrong, wherever it came from.

This is a Breitling publicity picture from the time of the release of the 806 1959 re-edition showing what must be a high quality original. You can use this to compare the two watches so you can see the differences. Not all differences are wrong, as there can always be a small manufacturing variations, but some will be obvious.
