I've just recently started tracking examples of the Superocean ref. 2005 and have a few questions for the pros here.

Craft & Tailored listing: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=783924
Analog/Shift listing: https://shop.analogshift.com/products/b ... 0ifQ%3D%3D

1) The C&T listing has the case size at 42mm while the A/S listing says 40mm. Is one of them wrong? Or are there multiple case variants out there?
2) Does anyone know the approximate thickness of this reference?
3) They have different crowns, the A/S listing having a (presumably later) signed crown. Is one necessarily correct? C&T claims the unsigned to be correct.
4) Are these in the sort of "expected" price range? Low 5 figures? Considering these notes on condition: both examples seem to have re-lumed hands (per the descriptions), The C&T example has a good nick in the bezel at 11, and the A/S crown may (?) be a later replacement. Also, I know A/S tends to mark things up a fair bit relative to others.
5) Any other thoughts on the relative condition of these examples?

Thanks in advance!!

1: cases are ca. 40mm, bezel ca. 42.5mm - assume this us the source of confusion here.
2: quite thick, ca. 15.3mm at crystal top, ca. 12.5 at bezel top.
3: crown on the A/S looks correct for Mk1, all 2005 crowns were signed (later Mk2 and Mk3 had screwdown)
4: expected range for dealer prices; neither example here is pristine, we have seen asking prices of 15k+ for superb exmples
main hands lume on the A/S looks to be original, unsure re paddle (well done if relumed, def. not recent), C&T are a complete re-lume.

Thanks a ton for the details Fred!

You mentioned differences between Mk1/2/3: do you have a suggested source that documents the key differences between the iterations?

Ah okay, I see they’re quite distinct watches. Thank you!
